Status: UNKNOWN (but probably ALIVE)

When the Infinity War directors were asked why T'Challa's partner didn’t appear in the movie, Joe Russo said, “She’s on missions" while Anthony added, “Yeah, deep undercover.”

So deep cover that she's forgotten that she was in fact supposed to be in Oakland running the Wakanda outreach centre? Hopefully, the fact that they didn't mention her death specifically means she'll return.

Impact:

Again, like Shuri, Nakia will be needed by Wakanda in this time of great turmoil. She's one of the country's greatest warriors and with their defences decimated, it's important that she returns home.

Her underground missions and the Wakandan outreach programme in Oakland can wait for now. And hopefully that might mean we'll see her busting heads in Avengers 4.
