Cap snuffs it. Simple as that.

The latest hint came from an Esquire profile on the actor, which revealed his impending departure in the following loaded paragraph:

"Settling in on the couch, he groans. Evans explains that he’s hurting all over because he just started his workout routine the day before to get in shape for the next two Captain America films. The movies will be shot back to back beginning in April. After that, no more red- white-and-blue costume for the thirty-five-year-old. He will have fulfilled his contract."

This absolutely isn't the first time an important MCU actor has said they were leaving a major franchise only to be convinced otherwise (just ask Robert Downey Jr) so there's no guarantee he's definitely on his way out. It might all just be public negotiating.

But the most worrying thing for Cap fans is that his death in Infinity War would make a lot of sense. He's a walking martyr and him dying for his beliefs would be the perfect cap to his arc - and the right way to convince the general public to reject the Accords.
