2. Bucky

Last Time

In Captain America: Civil War, Bucky was haunted by his past and by his reprogramming at the hands of HYDRA. He was on the run from the world's governments (though he was eventually cleared for one crime) and acted very much like an animal being hunted. There were flashes of the old Bucky in there, but his Winter Soldier training and HYDRA's torture was very much working against that.

We did see him briefly at the end of Black Panther, but there wasn't a great deal there other than the suggestion that he's a lot better now. He's still missing an arm though.

Now

As hinted in that post-credits scene and confirmed in the Infinity War prelude comic, Bucky has indeed been deprogrammed by Shuri. He is no longer the Winter Soldier, despite still rocking the grunge hair-cut and the big gun aesthetic. That's a big deal, as it essentially means he's a super soldier but without the volatility that he had in Civil War. That makes him a big player.

He's also getting a new Vibranium arm, courtesy of Shuri and Wakanda's vast resources. So that's something of an upgrade.
