14. War Machine

Last Time

Though he was supposed to cameo in Spider-Man: Homecoming to confirm that he's still an active Avenger, the last time we saw Rhodey, he'd just suffered catastrophic injury thanks to Vision and was partially paralysed. You'd have thought that would see him retired from active duty.

Subsequently, it's revealed that Stark has provided Rhodes with exoskeletal leg braces to help him walk again, but when we leave him, he's yet to really master them.

Now

Clearly, because the Avengers needs Rhodey to be fully functional and that Civil War ending was something of a cul-de-sac, the Russos will have War Machine back to full capacity again. As Don Cheadle told Good Morning America:

"When you have somebody like Tony, who is a master of tech and can create things that can get you over the hump, then you can walk again."

In other words, he's not going to be paralysed by his paralysis, which is a pretty major development.
