Last Time

In Civil War and throughout most of the stand-alone Black Panther, T'Challa was very much a king in the making. His crown sat heavy as he sought to follow in his father's footsteps, but he was obviously more comfortable as the Panther. He's now settled into his role though we haven't seen much of him as a proper King.

And as the Wakandan leader, he was the MCU's biggest secret keeper, right up until the post-credits of his solo movie when everything changed.

He's also now got a newly upgraded Panther suit, complete with nano-technology make-up.

Now

It wasn't until he dethroned Killmonger and took back his kingdom that he really became Wakanda's true king as well as the Black Panther. And by the time we see him in Infinity War, we're going to see him at the forefront of one of the biggest driving forces for change in the MCU: Wakanda's outreach programme.

Where he's always been a guarded figure sitting on secrets that only a few others have been privy to, he's now a font of knowledge who has to carefully judge what he should reveal and what Wakanda needs to keep to herself. He's also made himself a target, both from outsiders who want to steal Vibranium and from insurgents who prefer Wakanda's traditions to be protected.
