The missing Infinity Stone - the Soul Stone - is yet to appear in the MCU, but is said to be at the centre of the Thor: Ragnarok plot. So where is it? Surely it's not just lying around on Asgard? The Asgardians already know not to have more than one Stone together, and they have the Tesseract...

But no, it seems the answer may lie in the suggestion that Heimdall's eyes are augmented using the Soul Stone. That's where he draws his huge power from, which obviously spells disaster for him when Thanos finds out.

The chief evidence here seems to be that the Stone is the same colour as Heimdall's strange, exotic eyes. But really, having this play out as it could is a very interesting way to go, especially as Idris Elba has been so vocal about not wanting to play Heimdall. Maybe Marvel can get their vengeance by having his eyes torn out?

It fits the pattern of revelation as well, more importantly: in the case of every Stone, they've been at the centre of the most powerful artefacts in the Marvel Universe, and Heimdall is a similar oddity to the Tesseract and the Eye of Agamotto, because he is so vastly and improbably over-powered. To have that revealed to be a side-effect of using the Soul Stone, it would absolutely be fitting.
