Avengers: Infinity War - 15 Obscure Easter Eggs You Might Have Missed
14. Calling Captain America
Once the threat of Thanos' (Josh Brolin) arrival is made apparent to Tony Stark, he decides to grab the burner phone Captain America (Chris Evans) sent to him and considers making the call.
For a brief moment, the audience is given a clear view of the phone screen, which in addition to showing the time of Thanos' attack on New York City (1:21pm) and the painful 3G connection of the prehistoric flip phone, also reveals Cap's phone number.
It isn't uncommon for movies and TV shows to feature phone number Easter eggs which, if dialled by fans, will result in a cute voicemail message from cast or crew members. However, fans were disappointed to find that calling this number was a total dead end, and it's all the fault of Disney's legal department.
Joe Russo said the number was originally supposed to greet callers with a message from Captain America: "We had it all ready to go, but legal took that away from us."
Given how many other productions can make this work, what possible reason could the pencil-pushers have not to include it in one of the biggest movies ever?
