9. Quicksilver Returns

The Rumour: Pretty much ever since Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) died in Avengers: Age of Ultron, there's been rampant speculation that he'll return to the fold eventually, either having faked his death (because reasons), or more likely, Thanos using the Infinity Gauntlet to create a spectral vision of him to manipulate Scarlet Witch.

The Truth: Though Infinity War did feature one apparently dead character given a shock resurrection with that glorious Red Skull reveal, Quickie was nowhere to be seen, and it's looking increasingly likely that he's actually dead for real.

Granted, that doesn't mean Thanos won't create a projection of him in Avengers 4, but beyond getting a quick fan-service tease, it's immensely unlikely he'll be legit raised from the dead.
