20. The Raiders Gags

Inevitably, there are lots of Easter Eggs in Infinity War and the commentary confirms that there are two specific homages to Raiders Of The Lost Ark.

The first comes early on when Ebony Maw attempts to take the Time Stone off Doctor Strange and burns his hand thanks to Strange's defensive spell. That calls back Arnold Ernst Toht burning his hand on the heated headpiece from the Staff Of Ra.

And then later, when Maw confronts Iron Man and Peter Parker on his ship (as they attempt to rescue Strange), the writers struggled to work out how the fight would work, so instead they "cheated" and pulled an Indiana Jones, having him sucked out to space without the fight even happening. They say that was in homage to Indy shooting the sword-wielding maniac in Cairo.

19. Why They Chose Scotland

And no, it wasn't because the country's fondness for deep-friend kebabs was an important plot point. According to the commentary, Edinburgh was chosen for Vision and Scarlet Witch’s secret scenes because they felt it was a place that could go from romantic to scary very quickly. And as everyone who's ever had a night out in Scotland will attest, the reverse is also equally true.
