Avengers: Infinity War - 9 Reasons It's The Most Important Marvel Movie Yet

1. It Captures The Pure Essence Of Comic Book Storytelling

Avengers: Infinity War isn't just another big budget blockbuster, but an experience that needs to be seen to be believed.

The film does, quite simply, capture the essence of the comic book medium. That's particularly special, but it's also become apparent that the MCU has transcended the boundaries of what a typical blockbuster franchise can achieve, as with Infinity War, audiences have become so accustomed to these characters. They're friends, allies and acquaintances who've been around for the better part of ten years, and seeing them imperilled is genuinely distressing at times, making Infinity War an emotional, character driven drama that redefines what superhero films can achieve.

It's the same with reading actual comics themselves. These are all characters you pick up and read, week in, week out, and when a series has been going for such a long time, storytellers are just capable of doing more. Infinity War doesn't waste time with pleasantries - it assumes you've been along for the ride this entire time and runs with it, and while that might make the feature less accessible to the average moviegoer, for those who have stuck things out for so long, it makes for an experience unlike any other, and one that's more than worth the wait.

No doubt Infinity War will have left countless fans in a state of emotional delirium (guilty as charged), but again, that's what this film is all about - a devastating conclusion to a journey that kicked-off in 2008. How lucky we are, then, that we've been able to see it every step of the way.
