16. Heimdall

Why?

With very little to do going forward - and no Thor movie in the works to speak of - Heimdall is the first notable death in the film that is 99% going to stick.

Ending Idris Elba's loveable turn as essentially the only side character in the Thor movies anybody cared about (outside Lady Sif, but she wasn't even in Ragnarok), and it's a shame to see him go.

Ultimately though, with Asgard gone and Thor able to wield the Bifrost through new weapon Stormbreaker, there's just nothing left for him to do.
