Avengers: Infinity War & Endgame - 10 Major NEW Reveals From The Filmmakers

When Avengers: Endgame was released, directors Joe and Anthony Russo were quoted as saying that they would be open to returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. They specifically mentioned Secret Wars as the story they would next want to adapt, and for those of you who haven't read that, it features the alien Beyonder sending Earth's heroes and villains to Battleworld for a fight to the death.

Sounds pretty cool, right?

Well, the filmmakers didn't mention it during their live commentary for the record-breaking blockbuster, but Joe did say that, "we had an amazing experience, creatively and emotionally. It’s just a question of timing and when [we] find the right material." It definitely sounds like they want back in, but after devoting years to these Marvel movies, it makes sense for them to explore other options.

However, by the time the X-Men and Fantastic Four are also part of the MCU, don't be surprised if they make their grand return for some sort of massive, similarly epic Endgame-style crossover event.
