17. Mantis Subdues Thanos

What Mantis (Pom Klementieff) may lack in stature or nifty weapons, she more than compensates with her empathetic abilities, which are instrumental in the Avengers very nearly defeating Thanos on Titan.

With the help of one of Doctor Strange's portals, Mantis is able to get the drop on Thanos, falling atop his shoulders and placing him into a semi-conscious state as the other Avengers attempt to remove the Infinity Gauntlet.

Mantis being able to subdue the Mad Titan, even for a brief moment, is the perfect demonstration of her own strength, though Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) of course screws it all up by letting his emotions get the better of him.
