Some of his tribe did turn up for the fight against Thanos' Outrider army, but curiously they chose to leave their tremendously valuable Battle Rhinos off the battlefield. Presumably because the effects work would have been costly...

There's surely no way he'd still be imprisoned with Wakanda under threat, so he may have been evacuated by T'Challa for his own good.

Will He Be Back?

If T'Challa being disintegrated isn't enough to change his opinion of his old friend's rule and commitment to Wakanda, nothing will. If he survived the snap, he might be back, but it's more likely any future involvement would be in Black Panther 2.
