Avengers Infinity War Movie: 5 Things You Need To Know

1. It's A Step Up From Infinity Gauntlet

All that Thanos foreshadowing (plus the constant appearance of the Stones) had fans jumping the gun and assuming that the third Avengers film would be an adaptation of The Infinity Gauntlet - in fact Marvel have gone with The Infinity War, the second in a loose trilogy of cosmic comic book crossovers involving the universe's most powerful weapon and Thanos using them to do his ill will. Well, the first one does anyway- the War and its follow up, Infinity Crusade, are a little different. In fact The Infinity War is kind of a step up from Gauntlet. Where the original series saw the mad titan taking control of the eponymous glove and using it to delete half of existence, the follow ups somehow managed to up the stakes even further. The third even saw Thanos pretty much entirely on the side of good, which would be quite the table turn. Considering the third Avengers film is due to be split into two separate parts, there's always the chance that the name was chosen because they're going to adapt the whole epic, bringing one of the most sprawling and insane comic in Marvel history. Which, obviously, would be mind-blowing.
