Avengers Infinity War Movie: 5 Things You Need To Know
2. Thanos Isn't The Villain
Thanos has been set up as the Big Bad of the Marvel Cinematic Universe ever since the Avengers, with the intimation being that he's been sort of behind every big event that's happened throughout the films so far. He's undoubtedly evil, and whilst all these blockbusters have been running through the admittedly exciting motions, he's been trying to get control of the Infinity Stones and thus destroy all of existence. Which he wants to do because he has a crush on the physical embodiment of Death, but that's a whole other story. In the comics that's pretty much all Thanos ever does - except for in The Infinity War. For a little while, anyway. In fact it is Adam Warlock's nemesis/double Magus who is the main antagonist of the comic book series, and part of his plan involves enacting revenge upon Thanos. A sort of uneasy alliance begins between the universe's greatest villain and Earth's Mightiest Heroes, and whilst obviously the bad guy ends up trying to grab the power for himself at the end, he spends most of Infinity War as an anti-hero.
