36. Man-Ape

So far, we don't even know what part M'Baku (or Man-Ape to his friends) will play in Black Panther, aside from the vague suggestion that he's going to be a warmongering side threat to T'Challa, but he has been confirmed to be appearing in Infinity War.

From the descriptions of the Infinity War footage that came out of D23, it seems that war will come to Wakanda, which is why Man-Ape will return, and while he's no doubt a fearsome faction leader, there's no suggestion that he's empowered like Black Panther (after all, by definition, he can't be really), and he might well only be back to be cannon fodder.

35. Nick Fury

Though Samuel L Jackson claims he's not involved in either Avengers 3 or 4, a leaked casting call for a stand-in matching his description suggests he's in at least one of them. And it simply wouldn't make sense for him to stay hidden underground as the world goes to hell and the Avengers are splintered. He's already done that once for Civil War, and twice would make him look silly.

But then, even if he does turn up, he's probably going to be no more than a wise old sage again, telling the Avengers that they can't do this alone, possibly with some stirring 80s rock music in the background for added effect. Basically, he's not going to be a major presence (not with Captain Marvel coming up anyway), so don't get too excited, Fury fans.
