Avengers: Infinity War - Predicting The Entire Plot In 20 Steps

1. Captain America Sacrifices Himself

However you look at it, Captain America is doomed in Infinity War and while we won't necessarily get a Finger Snap Moment (or even the reveal of the Soul Stone), the film is still going to end on a devastating note thanks to his death in Wakanda.

Just as he did in the comics, Cap will end up facing off with Thanos one-to-one (though Bucky will probably witness the fatal blow for added emotional impact) and the Mad Titan will defeat him before escaping with the Mind Stone. We can maybe expect Thanos to use the Space Stone against Cap to "vanish" him the same way Red Skull was in The First Avenger.

The fact that Avengers 4 is said to be about time travel - and that Chris Evans has been spotted on set in his The Avengers costume - suggests that the Avengers (or at least Doctor Strange and a smaller team) will head back in time to "find" Cap (since that was kind of the explanation when he was found alive after his Civil War death). And for that to be a key plot point, Cap has to first die, so get your hankies ready.
