6. The Emotional Stakes

Unless you really haven't been paying attention, you'll already know to expect lots of emotional weight when Infinity is released. There will be death, this will be a finale and the costs to the MCU will be huge. As we're repeatedly told, nothing is every going to be the same after Avengers 4, and that's precisely the message the drama in this trailer sells.

We get flashes of romance - Vision and Scarlet Witch, Banner and Natasha - hints of devastation (that shot of Tony Stark crying over someone is terrifying) and the reinforcement of Thanos' threat through everything going to hell very quickly. The message here is clear - even in the trailer - while Thor: Ragnarok may have been all about fun and levity, this is a grown-up film and it's going to upset you, and there's really nothing you can do about it.

It's about damn time, really.
