Avengers: Infinity War - What Does The Ending Really Mean?
3. Captain Marvel Is On The Way
Directors Joe and Anthony Russo may have insisted that Brie Larson's Captain Marvel wasn't in the movie, but they did still manage to sneak the character in without lying about it.
The post-credits scene ends not just with a superb "motherfu-" gag from Jackson's Fury, but also with him using a pager to send out a distress signal to... someone.
The camera pans down to the pager after he disintegrates, and on its screen flashes the insignia of Captain Marvel. This means that Larson's Carol Danvers will be showing up to help straighten out the universe in Avengers 4 (or she should be, unless she's really rude), but it also opens up some big questions that the Captain Marvel will need to address. Most pertinently, we'll need to have an understanding of why Fury couldn't have contacted her before now, and just where the hell she was while all of this was going down.
Danvers will be the most powerful hero we've ever seen in the MCU when she does arrive, and her abilities - including superhuman strength, flight, and control over various types of energy - should come in rather handy for putting things right.
