Avengers: Infinity War - What Is Next For EVERY Character

43. Doctor Strange

Fate: Snapped out of existence

The one thing we can be sure of about Doctor Strange's future is that there is one. The good Doctor confirmed as much himself by telling Tony Stark that he'd foreseen the heroes' victory in one possible future (which is THIS future, as he confirmed with his "we're in the endgame now" and "there was no other way" comments). Since the Ancient One confirmed you cannot see past your own death, Strange's awareness of the victory despite him being snapped out of existence means he's definitely not dead permanently.

He's pretty much the most assured to return.

42. Spider-Man

Fate: Snapped out of existence

Peter's death was made more emotionally devastating by the fact that his Spider-Sense made him feel it before he happened, unlike most of the other victims, and it would be something of a shame to undo that. But Marvel have Spider-Man: Homecoming's sequel already confirmed, so we know he's coming back.

Expect Tony Stark to lay down his life in exchange for the young new Avenger if he can. After all, we know he wanted a son.

41. Maria Hill

Fate: Snapped out of existence

A completely expendable character, Maria Hill's return isn't entirely assured (since she probably has little to do in this timeline now), but it would be a little cruel to leave her dead. So expect to see her return and lead SHIELD in place of her former boss.

There's a good chance that we'll probably also see her in Captain Marvel before Avengers 4 too.

40. Nick Fury

Fate: Snapped out of existence

The Avengers' big dog was able to get his pager message out to Captain Marvel before he died as a reminder that he still has a major role to play in the MCU before Avengers 4. We'll see him with both eyes in the 1990s meeting Carol Danvers as she becomes the new Captain Marvel and involving himself and SHIELD in the Kree/Skrull conflict at the heart of that movie.

A big rumour suggests we might then see him revealed as a Skrull in disguise, which would be a bold choice, but it would ensure we got more Fury in the MCU, which wouldn't be entirely unwelcome. You have to suspect that Avengers 4 would be his swansong though, with Samuel L Jackson advancing in years now.
