Avengers: Infinity War - What Is Next For EVERY Character
The Other Deaths
And then there were the other deaths, whose permanence might well be up for debate...
39. Gamora
Fate: Sacrificed by Thanos
While it looked like Gamora's emotional death might last permanently, there are a couple of things that seem to point to her return in Avengers 4. Firstly, James Gunn has previously spoken about her having an expanded role in Guardians Vol 3, which she obviously can't have if she's dead.
And then there's that weird little ending scene that shows young Gamora seemingly on Soul World (or so the theory goes anyway), which suggests that she's not so much dead as trapped inside it. Thanos traded her soul, rather than properly killing her and that might mean she's rescuable.
38. Ebony Maw
Fate: Killed by Iron Man (and Aliens)
One of the greatest tragedies of Infinity War is that we didn't get to see more of Ebony Maw, who basically acted as the herald of Thanos despite having powers that probably outshone the Mad Titan.
He was ultimately killed when Peter Parker suggested using "that really old film Aliens" as inspiration and shooting him out into space. It's a shame, but he's probably not coming back, even if Thanos can bring people back from the dead (and even if he expressed specific regret at the Maw's death).
37. Cull Obsidian
Fate: Disintegrated in Wakanda
Cull Obsidian's death was a great moment for Bruce Banner, as it confirmed he has strength that doesn't rely on the Hulk and it was a great death because it didn't leave a great deal of uncertainty over the fact that he is completely dead.
After all, you don't get disintegrated by a Wakandan forcefield and survive. The only way he could come back is if time travel is involved, and as there's a theory that time travel will be used to take the action back to before the Wakandan battle, that would mean that there could be a way back for all of the Black Order who were killed during that battle (so, sorry Ebony Maw).
