Baby Driver Review: 5 Ups & 4 Downs

2. It's Full Of Nerdy References

It's an Edgar Wright film, so of course, there's a ton of nerdy references for his fans to pick out, both in terms of his prior filmography and movies he has a general affinity for.

No doubt Wright's fans will pick apart every frame of the movie when it's out on home video to uncover every last Easter Egg, but even from an initial viewing he has populated every scene with clever nods to his own work and the films which influenced Baby Driver.

That's without even mentioning some of the script's more blatant, and hilarious, nods to Shaun of the Dead. No sign of a Cornetto anywhere, though (unless it's been cleverly hidden).
