Back To The Future: 10 Giant Plot Holes You Probably Missed

6. Doc's Clocks

BTTF Clocks BTTF has a beautifully subtle opening scene that tells us almost everything we need to know about the main characters. The camera pans over Doc's apartment - littered with kooky inventions, piles of uneaten dog food, and a number of clocks. Marty enters for a quick jam session before class only to discover that he is running late because the clocks were all set slow. It is only when Doc calls his own house for some reason that Marty discovers this fact. Cue Huey Lewis and the News. But why were all the clocks set slow in the first place? We are to assume that it had something to do with Doc's time travel experiment, but how? Furthermore, Marty spent about 5 minutes in there before Doc called, so would he not be presumably late for school before he even arrived?
