And above all else, Bad Times at the El Royale isn't just a film full of mysteries, it's also a film full of fun twists and turns, even if it doesn't quite carry through all the way to the final moments.

The ludicrously entertaining mini-arcs for each of the characters results in reveals ranging from hilarious to nerve-wrackingly intense, but in each case highly entertaining.

Credit to the trailers for giving little indication of most of these revelations, while the movie itself sets an air of "anything goes" early on with the unexpected death of a major character. From that point on, there's absolutely no guarantee who will live and die, and it makes the remainder even more fun than it already is.
