7. Letitia Wright Wins The EE Rising Star Award

The Rising Star Award is always a bit of an eyebrow-raiser, if only because it's voted on by the general public and, to be blunt, the general public doesn't exactly have the most discerning taste (hence their awarding it to Noel Clarke in 2009 and Adam Deacon in 2012).

While Letitia Wright certainly had a fine 2018 between her work in Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War, was she really more deserving of the award than Cynthia Erivo, Barry Keoghan and Lakeith Stanfield in particular?

This really should've been Stanfield's to lose given his prolific work over the last few years, but of course, it's a popularity contest at the end of the day, so naturally the actress from the superhero movie won the gong.
