7. Youn Yuh-Jung's Hilarious Acceptance Speech

By far the best acceptance speech from any nominee was that of Youn Yuh-jung, who won the Best Supporting Actress BAFTA for her performance in Minari.

Yuh-jung's charming speech saw her offer her condolences to the British public for the over-the-weekend death of Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, before claiming that a BAFTA win means something special to her because of how "snobbish" the British people are. She said:

"Thank you so much for this award. Every award is meaningful, but this one, especially being recognised by British people, known as snobbish people, and they approve me as a good actor, I am very happy. Thank you so much."

Though it'd certainly be easy for such comments to invoke the ire of viewers, that evidently wasn't the case, as the general social media response seemed to be one of endearment.

Host Dermot O'Leary perhaps captured the national mood best when he exclaimed that he wasn't quite sure how to react to the actress' comments.
