Batgirl Movie: 10 Directors To Replace Joss Whedon

With the not-so-surprising news that Joss Whedon has quit the DC Extended Universe's Batgirl, the coming days and weeks will see Warner Bros. scrambling to find a suitable replacement, and really, the only smart choice is to give the job to a woman.

Hollywood has a real problem giving female filmmakers the same opportunities as their male counterparts, and finding a woman to direct an obviously female-centric story such as this really shouldn't be difficult at all.

Though the studio will obviously have a smaller pool of candidates to draw from, there's a ludicrous amount of female directing talent out there that would jump at the chance to direct a story as potentially iconic as this.

These 10 filmmakers represent the most intriguing, diverse, bold and simply logical choices for directing Batgirl, and though scheduling or "creative differences" may prevent some of them from signing on, surely at a few of these picks will already be on Warner Bros.' shortlist...
