Batman: 7 Coolest Features Of The Batsuit

1. The Utility Belt (Of Course!)

Utility Belt Batman€™s ultimate weapon, the utility belt contains everything a well-stocked crimefighter needs, including (but by no means limited to) a supply of Batarangs, a length of steel cable, a grapnel gun, smoke pellets, flashbangs, explosive devices (including C4), gas pellets, poison darts, an infra red flashlight, various lock picking tools, a high-powered laser torch, a blowtorch, a re-breather (for surviving underwater), a fingerprint dusting kit, Bat-tracers, corrosive acid, antidotes to various toxins, handcuffs and a remote control system for the Batmobile. The utility belt is absolutely the most important tool at Batman€™s disposal (besides, of course, his keen, analytical mind) and that probably explains why it makes up such a prominent part of the Batsuit. However, even without all this, remember that Batman has usually swallowed a lock pick, just in case he is trapped (Batman Incorporated, The Last Arkham) and unable to get to his utility belt. He will also take specific items for cases involving specific foes, so the content changes from story to story. As I said at the beginning of this little presentation, The Batsuit is undisputedly the coolest superhero costume ever designed. Not only does the suit's unique look evoke a majestic, iconic feeling, but it actually becomes part of the adventure in its own right. It is well made, too. In The Return of Bruce Wayne, we get to see a cape and cowl survive in a cave for thousands of years. No doubt generations of writers and artists will be exploring and adding to the suit for centuries to come. OK, we€™ve established that the suit is incredible, but what have I left out? Let me know in the comments section.

I am a professional author and lifelong comic books/pro wrestling fan. I also work as a journalist as well as writing comic books (I also draw), screenplays, stage plays, songs and prose fiction. I don't generally read or reply to comments here on What Culture (too many trolls!), but if you follow my Twitter (@heyquicksilver), I'll talk to you all day long! If you are interested in reading more of my stuff, you can find it on http://quicksilverstories.weebly.com/ (my personal site, which has other wrestling/comics/pop culture stuff on it). I also write for FLiCK http://www.flickonline.co.uk/flicktion, which is the best place to read my fiction work. Oh yeah - I'm about to become a Dad for the first time, so if my stuff seems more sentimental than usual - blame it on that! Finally, I sincerely appreciate every single read I get. So if you're reading this, thank you, you've made me feel like Shakespeare for a day! (see what I mean?) Latcho Drom, - CQ
