Batman: 9 Things You Need To Know About Deathstroke
7. Deathstroke Scored A Solo Series In 1991
Eleven years after his debut, DC’s top brass handed the masked merc a solo series titled Deathstroke the Terminator, which was penned by Marv Wolfman at a time when anti-heroes were all the rage.
DC had found its answer to Marvel’s Punisher - a homicidal badass in a world of spandex-wearing boy scouts and girl guides, but one readers could actually root for.
His solo title began life under the banner of Deathstroke the Terminator before becoming Deathstroke the Hunted for issues #41 to #45 as well as the special issue #0 - then plain old Deathstroke from issue #46 onwards.
The original Deathstroke series ran for 60 issues, plus the #0 issue and four annuals.
