Most disgruntled spouses take just take the house or half of your record collection, but not Captain Adeline Kane.

She and Slade Wilson developed a romantic relationship sometime after the man who would become Deathstroke enlisted in the US Army, the organisation which later granted him meta-human capabilities in a Wolverine-style experiment.

The couple go on to marry and have two sons, Grant and Joseph, but their father’s secret side gig as a masked merc soon puts his family in the line of fire.

When a terrorist known as The Jackal kidnapped Joseph, Deathstroke gambled his son’s life against his meta-human abilities. Although he took down the captors, his boy suffered a throat injury that left him mute.

Slade is forced to reveal his secret identity to Adeline upon rushing his wounded son to hospital and she didn’t take the news that his careless actions had left her second born maimed too well, surprisingly enough.

Enraged, she brandished a gun and reeled off a headshot towards her hubby, succeeding only in taking one of his eyes.

The bullet may have been a fatal blow to his marriage, but Deathstroke’s combat skills and marksmanship remained strong. So strong that he wears a mask with a featureless black half to make no secret of his missing eye.
