Their Roles in Forever: Hingle played Commissioner Gordon, while Gough portrayed Bruce Wayne's loyal butler Alfred. Both have the distinction of being the only two actors to stay in their roles throughout all four films of the 1989-1997 series. Unfortunately, both men are no longer with us. Hingle passed away in 2009 at the age of 84 and Gough passed away in 2011 at 94. Hingle had continued acting regularly right up to his passing, with his last notable big screen appearance being in the Will Ferrell-led Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby. As for Gough, the actor stepped away from his long career at the end of the '90s, only working on a further three films with Tim Burton: Sleepy Hollow in 1999, Corpse Bride in 2005 and 2010's Alice in Wonderland, which served as his final role.
