Again, one of the most refreshing things about the next DC animated feature is that it'll be departing from the company's bizarre animated universe. That particular interlinking world sits in this bizarre plain between the fantastic universe of old and DC's mainstream one, and well, it's just kind of there, isn't it?

We know that DC will be continuing to develop that universe with the upcoming Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay (a particularly cringey title, we know), but that's the only upcoming release we know of so far. Indeed, it would be nice if DC could just go back to doing adaptations like Gaslight, or, at the very least, making quality original features.

We know they have the talent for it, even if it hasn't always felt that way these past few years. Either way, a return to proper adaptations can only be a good thing - particularly if they're back to DKR quality.
