Batman: Gotham By Gaslight Review - 5 Ups & 5 Downs

5. Bruce Greenwood & Jennifer Carpenter's Strong Performances
The voice acting is unquestionably the strongest aspect of the film, with Batman regular Bruce Greenwood giving another impressive performance as Bruce Wayne and his superhero alter-ego.
Greenwood's more dramatically subdued effort may not quite work for those desperate for a hammy, growling Batman, but he helps make both sides of the character feel like an actual human being rather than a mere fantastical creation.
Then there's Jennifer Carpenter's fine work as Selina Kyle, bringing the seductive appeal fans expect of the character and making the most of her scenes opposite Bruce, which generally account for the best of what the film has to offer.
It's a shame the pair didn't get better material to work with, but they certainly aren't phoning it in here regardless.
