Batman & Harley Quinn Review: 3 Ups & 8 Downs
1. It's Full Of Filler
Even at just 74 minutes in length, there's so, so much filler packed into this movie, with nothing proving more blatantly excessive than when Bats, Harley and Nightwing pull over to a dive bar to follow up on a lead, and the film basically stops to bore viewers with not one but two musical numbers, one involving Harley herself.
This sequence goes on for a full five minutes and is clear padding to bloat out a story that's barely feature length as it is. That's not to forget a lengthy post-credits scene featuring Harley that's basically a throwaway satirical gag that nevertheless drags on for over three minutes.
Cutting these scenes brings the movie down to barely an hour in length, and even then there are several other dull scenes that don't really feel like they belong.
This is a terrible movie, no question, but there are at least a few things that actually work...
