2. Heath Ledger Directed The Joker's Homemade Video Scene In The Dark Knight

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dHhZtBDtqxo Heath Ledger was a man of many talents, his portrayal of the sadistic, chaos-creating Joker has gone down in history and acknowledged with the Oscar for €œBest Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role€ back in 2009 and Saturn Award for €œBest Supporting Actor€ in the same year. Not only did he play a brilliant character, but he also got the chance to direct part of the film himself, granted they were very small parts but they really gave us an insight into the twisted mechanics of the Joker's mind. Christopher Nolan oversaw the first homemade video the Joker sends to CGN, but after Nolan beleieved Ledger had done so well with the clip that he felt there was no need to supervise the second one - where the Joker forces Mike Engel to read his statement to the people of Gotham. Nolan let Ledger have complete creative control over the sequence and allowed him to do what he pleased, and understandably Nolan was overwhelmed by the outcome.
