Batman: Ranking Every Movie Batsuit From Worst To Best
10. Batman Begins
Pros: For Nolan's universe, a practical suit with little gothic details to sell him as a figure of fear was definitely the right way to go. And there is something to be said of the angular aesthetic. It's very much how you'd imagine a billionaire with his own weapons development unit would design a vigilante crime fighting suit.
Cons: It's not the most superhero-like costume (which, of course is sort of the point), and the smaller hole for Christian Bale's jaw is still very odd-looking.
If you're looking for comic book costume spirit this is not really it, but from the get-go it was very obvious that Batman's world was going to be ruled by practicality and combat-readiness. And to that end, the notoriously uncomfortable suit for Batman Begins was perfectly suited.
It's not quite as up to the billing as a symbol of fear, because it's not quite monstrous enough, BUT the all black look that hadn't been seen since the opening acts of Batman Forever was an inspired touch and it does suit his "fight from the shadows" manifesto.
