Batman: Ranking Every Movie Batsuit From Worst To Best
1. Burton's Batsuit
Pros: Looks the absolute business.
Cons: No neck movement to speak of. And, according to Michael Keaton, it was bloody heavy.
When Tim Burton was charged with making a darker, more gothic Batman, he immediately did what Tim Burton does best, drawing out grotesque character models. He was perfectly suited to creating a Batman built on the principles of fear and intimidation that the comics used in his design and the result of his work was the greatest ever screen Batman costume.
The little flourishes of yellow on the belt and the chest are nice nods to a more comic like sensibility, but the choice to go all black and to enhance Michael Keaton's physique and facial make-up to make him look more monstrous was inspired.
This suit also came with the standard Batarang, the grappling gun and smoke capsules that allow Batman to easily escape from danger or awkward conversations.
Unfortunately, the heavy foam meant Keaton was restricted in his movement and couldn't hear, so it's amazing he even remotely managed to act in it.
