Batman & Superman Starring In The Same Movie... LEGO: The Piece of Resistance!

Channing Tatum and Will Arnett to voice the iconic superheroes!

With plans for a Justice League movie brewing and the possibility of Batman and Superman finally starring in a live-action movie together and whetting the lips of many fanboys, comes the news from Variety that the two iconic superheroes are teaming together for another motion picture. And Channing Tatum and Will Arnett are set to play them! Variety reports that LEGO versions of Batman and Superman will share screen time together in LEGO: The Piece of Resistance, the Warner Bros film adaptation of their popular gaming franchise. Tatum is set to voice Superman and Arnett to voice Batman, though neither man has officially signed on yet. From the sounds of the two names close to signing on, we can expect their roles in the movie won't just be a small cameo and will be somewhat integral to the story. Parks and Recreation star Chris Pratt signed on to the movie some while ago to voice the lead character Emmett, "an ordinary, law-abiding, Lego mini-figure who is mistaken for the most extraordinary MasterBuilder. He's drafted into a fellowship of strangers on a quest to stop an evil tyrant from gluing the universe together." Warner Bros have been developing the movie for three years but in 2010, they hired Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs and 21 Jump Street writer/directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller to write and direct, and they recently added Robot Chicken stop-motion director Chris McKay as another co-director to help them out. The movie will be a hybrid of live-action and Lego-based animation. Australian based vfx-toon house Animal Logic are handling the animation of which 80% is expected to be comprised of Lego.
