7. We Need A Hero
Let's be honest here, noone in their right mind is going to try and redo Superman until Christopher Reeve's definitive version of the character is a faint memory, and if they do try it, they'll need their head examining. Even despite the awful final sequels, and the worrying loss of what the first two movies were about, none of the luster has been removed from the early successes of that franchise. And the casting of Reeve was so spot-on, that any attempt to do it again will be simple folly. I mean, what are they going to do - cast someone based solely on their resemblance to Christopher Reeve to the detriment of the film when it turns out they don't have the personality to carry either parts of the character? Yeah, that sounds feasible... So with no Superman on the horizon, we need Batman. We need a caped crusader to keep the flag flying at the box office for comic book fans across the globe, and if Hollywood gives up on Schumacher now and attempts to reload Batman, we'll be looking at at least four or five years without any comic book representation on the silver screen. This is the final chance, and giving up now will only mean a redo of the mistakes of the past, and the ultimate death of the comic book movie within the decade.
