6. The Mistakes Of The Past
As much as Schumacher has taken a world of heat for what he did with Batman & Robin, we all know he is a Batman fan. Yes, he might be a little too flamboyant as a film-maker, especially when directly compared with his Batman franchise predecessor, but he knows that Batman & Robin was a major misstep, and he also knows he owes us Batman fans major compensation. Thanks to those mistakes, Schumacher would be working doubly hard on Batman Triumphant - removing everything that made Batman & Robin a laughing stock - from the Bat-nipples to the fluorescent paint and terrible CGI Gotham cityscapes. He would hopefully return to the source, strip his vision of Batman back to something closer to Burton's original vision, and the result would blow us all away. Considering the rumours of casting, and the characters Schumacher was going to bring to the table - and still might if Triumphant gets a belated second chance - we already know Schumacher was going bolder and braver, but now thanks to the mistakes of Batman & Robin, we might get the chance to see some restraint and a lot more intellect alongside that bravery.
