Batman v. Superman: 10 Actors Who Could Play The Riddler

3. Johnny Depp

TumblrTumblrArguably one of the finest active character actors in cinema, Johnny Depp seems like one of the more likely candidates to take up the mantle of portraying DC€™s puzzle-obsessed villain. Though many fans are concerned that Depp will imbue the role with the bombastic, over-the-top cheese of Jim Carrey€™s rendition, the 51-year-old has enough experience of crafting memorable characters to know how to approach the Riddler. Over the years Depp has given us some of the most enduring characters in recent cinematic history like Captain Jack Sparrow, the Mad Hatter and Willy Wonka. Clearly Depp is not unfamiliar with playing deeply unhinged characters. He is well versed with playing criminals too €“ in his long career we have seen Depp playing the likes of John Dillinger, George Jung (Blow) and Sweeney Todd. The main issue standing in the way of Johnny Depp€™s long awaited entry into the auspicious world of comic book movies is that he already has a busy schedule right through to 2016. He is already acting in Scott Cooper€™s Black Mass and after this he is set to reprise his roles as both the Mad Hatter and Jack Sparrow.
