7. Alfred Pennyworth
The cinematic role of Bruce Waynes trusty butler has developed rather a lot in recent years. Thanks to Michael Caines turn in The Dark Knight trilogy and Sean Pertwees portrayal in Gotham, Alfred Pennyworth is no longer just a withering old man with a few wry remarks up his sleeves. Hes gradually becoming a man of action, who Batman really couldnt survive without. In Batman V Superman, Jeremy Irons could take this transition to the next level and be the first Alfred actor to totally steal the movie. As well as being on hand to tend Bruces wounds and deliver vital intel into Batmans ears, perhaps Irons Alfred (like Pertwees) will showcase some special forces training by mucking in with the occasional fight sequence. If this Alfred can become more than just an incidental supporting character and actually be a vital part of the film by joining the fight himself and perhaps even saving Batmans life at one stage audiences are bound to leave the cinema talking fondly about him. Jeremy Irons has the gravitas to pull both butler and bad-ass, which is surely something fans would love to see.
