Batman V Superman: 10 Reasons Troy Baker Would Be The Perfect Joker
5. He Could Adhere To The Comics
The image of Ben Afflecks Batman costume draws heavily from Frank Millers seminal graphic novel The Dark Knight Returns, with the presumably grey and black suit. If this is an indication that Zack Snyder intends to pay homage to the comics then it makes sense that any version of The Joker would be likely to follow the source material as well. The DC Cinematic Universe is not going to be rooted in realism like Christopher Nolans trilogy. This means that superpowers and super-villains are not off the table. The terrifying Joker who constantly asked us why so serious? and do you want to know how I got these scars? was highly original, but it was hardly The Joker from The Killing Joke. There are multiple versions of how The Joker came up with his unique look; some comics say he fell into a vat of chemicals at the hands of Batman (this is what Burton followed), some say he was a failed comedian who turned to crime as the Red Hood and Scott Snyders Zero Year suggests that The Joker used to command a gang of Red Hoods. There are so many versions of The Joker that we could see any number of interpretations on the character. The DC Cinematic Universe looks set to include Amazonians and Atlantis, as well as the superhuman Cyborg. In this comic-based universe a faithful adaptation of The Joker looks likely to appear. Troy Baker has the look, the sound and the experience to bring this all together into a well rounded adaptation of The Joker.
