8. Scoot McNairy Is The Flash

Whenever people like Scoot McNairy get cast in movies as big as this, and the studio doesn't tell you who they're playing, speculation instantly goes crazy about who they've been cast as. It's the same with Jena Malone, rumoured to be playing Carrie Kelley, Barbara Gordon, or even Kahina. With McNairy, many of the rumours have centred around The Flash, Nightwing, Green Lantern, Shazam, or The Martian Manhunter. A photo of McNairy wearing bright green socks was snapped from the set, which led many to believe he'd be playing The Flash, and that the socks would later be CGI-ed as part of his super speed. But when you thought about it for more than a second, this sounded ridiculous. Why would they only CGI the lower half of his legs? Grant Gustin, for instance, just walks around on the set of The CW's The Flash wearing his full red suit. An infinitely more compelling theory is that McNairy is actually playing Jimmy Olsen. The green socks will be turned into prosthetic legs, with Olsen having lost his legs during the epic battle between Superman and Zod at the end of Man Of Steel. It's helped by the fact that Ezra Miller has since been announced as Barry Allen/The Flash. Like many comic book characters, there have been multiple Flashes over the years so McNairy could, in theory, be playing another version of the character. But he won't be, because this is really just a rumour.
