Batman V Superman: 10 Rumours That Are Definitely Bullsh*t

4. It Cost $410m To Make

No it didn't. This figure is insane. A price tag of $410 million would match the figure spent by Disney on Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides pretty much to the dollar. Essentially, it'd be the most expensive movie ever made. More than Pirates of the Caribbean: At World End's $300 million. More than Avengers: Age of Ultron's $280 million. More than Avatar's $237 million. And way more than Man Of Steel's $225 million budget. There's no question Warner Bros has a lot invested in Batman v Superman. Man Of Steel didn't do all that much to set up the Extended Universe, and everyone's expecting Dawn of Justice to play that role instead. After all, it not only adds Batman into the equation, but also introduces Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, and Ray Fisher as Cyborg. And those are just the people we know about for sure. Would Warner Bros be willing to spend more money on it to ensure the security of Justice League and all the solo movies coming out over the next few years? Sure. But are they willing to spend a massive 80% more than they did on the first movie? Not a chance. Ben Affleck's salary is probably the only major addition compared to last time - Gadot, Momoa, and Fisher's big paydays will all come in future movies. And Zack Snyder's not stupid. Man Of Steel made $668 million worldwide in 2013, which isn't a huge sum, all things considered. Even taking into account the star power of Affleck and the rejuvenation of the Batman character, he's not going to go and ask Warner Bros for more than $400 million to make the second film.
