Batman V Superman: 10 Spoilers We Learned From The New Images

4. Metallo And Brainiac Are On The Horizon

When Warner Bros. announced their DC Comics movie slate, there was no sign of solo movies for Batman and Superman. Despite dividing critics, Man of Steel was a success at the box office, but the huge number of actors from that movie who are set to appear in Batman v Superman led to some falling under the belief that it's actually a sequel to that (with the Caped Crusader essentially serving as something of a guest star).

That's definitely not the case, and it's thought that both Superman and Batman will indeed be getting their own movies at some point before 2020.

Talking about initial plans for Man of Steel 2, Zack Snyder might just have offered an insight into what fans should expect from the movie when it does happen.

"I remember talking about 'What's the next villain?' 'We can't do another alien invasion.' Brianiac was definitely down the road. Metallo, I think, was going to be the main bad guy of this movie," he revealed. Metallo would be a very interesting choice of foe for Superman, and with Brainiac rumoured for Justice League, it seems like both of these iconic bad guys will reach the big screen before too long.
