Batman V Superman: 10 Theories About Lex Luthor

3. He Killed His Father

Another slice of intel garnered from Lex Luthor€™s fictitious Fortune magazine profile is that Jesse Eisenberg isn€™t the traditional Lex Luthor. He€™s Lex Luthor Jnr, who inherited the iconic villainous company LexCorp from his father, Lex Luthor Snr. €œDad named the company after himself ten years before I made my unexpected entrance into his life,€ Lex Luthor Jnr is quoted as saying during the article, before adding that €œwhatever else he was, he was a good businessman.€ Descriptive words assigned to Lex Luthor Snr that pop up include €˜indomitable€™ and €˜vicious.€™ This paints a picture suggesting that the relationship between Lex Snr and Lex Jnr wasn€™t an entirely happy one. Some fan theorists have gone to the next level with this assumption €“ what if Lex Jnr killed his dad? Lex Snr is said to have €˜unexpectedly€™ passed away in 2000, and that€™s all we know. That€™s certainly grounds enough for speculation. It remains to be seen exacrlt why would Lex kill his own father, though. It€™ll be a while until we find out, but there is one tantalising detail in the article hasn't yet been touched upon: before his death, Lex Snr was obsessed with €˜strange meteorite crystals.€™ That, surely, will become significant.
