This is a fairly recent rumour that’s sparked up, but one that has certainly captured fan's imaginations.
After a knee-jerk reaction, Jared Leto is the popular choice to take on the Clown Prince of Crime and although his nu-metal look has split opinion straight down the middle (what DC decision hasn’t lately?), he is without a doubt the most eagerly anticipated part of the upcoming Suicide Squad film.
It will be a good eight years since we first saw Heath Ledger’s Joker on the big screen when Leto puts on his single purple glove, but cinemagoers may be in for a treat before then - The Joker could be scheduled to make an appearance in Batman V Superman.
Reports have stated a flashback scene involving the Joker killing Robin has been filmed, but who’s to say it’s for Suicide Squad? With Bruce Wayne clearly mourning the loss of his sidekick whose costume is displayed like a shrine in the Batcave, it could well be the case that DC did some extra shooting on the set of Suicide Squad to keep it a surprise.
