Batman V Superman: 3 Reasons Why The Trailer Teaser Sucks (And 1 Why It's Awesome)

1. It's Irritating Teaser Marketing

This whole teasers for teasers schtick must be logical in the studio's eyes, announcing the release of a trailer for a new upcoming movie as some sort mini-event in itself, but it's getting far too irritating from an audience perspective (is anybody really looking forward to The Hunstman: Winter's War so much they need a twenty second clip to get them excited for the trailer?). Occasionally we'll get a smart twist on the cynicism (Ant-Man's tease was "Ant Sized"), but they're really only gimmicky exceptions. And while this is mixing things up by using a clip, rather than a heavily edited trailer, it's hard to praise the angle here. You see, this "sneak" was marketed as the new big look at Batman V Superman, yet it turns out it was really just an advert for the real trailer coming in a couple of days (and a way to trick superhero fans with a sense of quality to check out Gotham). Urgh. It's like going into a movie and only getting bombarded by teases for more upcoming films. And that nicely brings us to the one thing the teaser actually did OK...
